Common questions
Is Scanly really free?
Yes. Scanning, offline OCR, barcode and QR reading, PDF annotation and merging, and every export are free and unlimited. AI Scan includes 10 free pages a month, and you can earn 2 more at a time by watching a short ad — up to five a day. Pro raises the allowance to 700 pages and unlocks the professional tools.
Does Scanly show ads?
Only if you ask for one. There are no banners and no interstitials anywhere in the app. The single ad is a rewarded video you start yourself to earn extra AI pages when you've used your free ones — ignore it and you'll never see an ad. Scanly Pro removes ads entirely; on Pro the ads SDK never even starts.
What happens to my documents?
Everything on-device — scanning, offline OCR, the PDF editor, your history — stays on your phone. When you run AI Scan or Translate, that document is sent over an encrypted connection for processing and the result comes back to your device. See the privacy policy for the details.
How does the license key work?
Your key is shown immediately after checkout. Enter it in Scanly's settings to unlock Pro on up to three devices. Removing the key from a device frees that slot for another one.
I lost my key — now what?
Email [email protected] from the address you paid with and we'll resend it. Your subscription itself is never lost — it lives with your payment, not with the key on your screen.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
Cancel anytime from the Paddle billing portal linked in your receipt email — you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. Refunds are handled per the refund policy.
